The following arms, devices and badges are herewith rejected by the Imperial College of Arms of the SCA, for reasons given,

Kingdom of Atenveldt

Elasaid ni Chluarian. Azure, two swords inverted in saltire, and overall, a swan argent.

    1. Aten may hand this device, but all subsequent from this branch of Clan Chluarian should go through Vesper, as they reside in her sphere of authority.

2) This is to close to Swan (Papworth pg. 306), Sheryl of Thespis, Arianwen of the Tunlawald, &c. Redesign, using some other field tincture.

Thomas du Survellant. Quarterly Or and argent, a cross azure between in bend sinister a pentacle sable and a staff of Aesculapies sinister facing gules.

This could be better blazoned as: Quarterly, first and third Or, second argent, a pentangle sable, fourth argent a staff of Aesculapies sinister facing gules, the whole united by a cross azure overall.: Busy, quarterly, and dumb, besides. Let him choose either the cross alone, and put that in one quarter, or either the pentangle or the staff, and put that in quarter of overall. Or put the cross, pentangle, and rod on a solid color field (sigh.....)

We admit the appeal on RoT in regards to quarterly, and heartily thank all concerned. We honestly didn't know. The appealed devices will be caught up with next month.

Kingdom of the West

Dorothea of Paravel. Badge. A hare proper standing erect on its hind feet playing the Galatian bagpipes.

We need the generic name of the hare.....

John Trimain. Vert, a keystone gules, fimbriated Or.

"Johnny Tremain" was a character, and the title, of a juvenile historical novel by Esther Forbes. Also made into a movie by Walt Disney. NO NO NO NO NO! No hassle on the device, however.

Olaf the Ugly. (Hononson). Purpure, a bend Or engoulee of dragon's heads vert between two fireballs Or.

This is too close to the flag of Franco of Spain, "Purpure, a bend engoulee of two dragon's heads Or between two pillars...&c." Re-design.
