Ismenia Joslyn Wyndameer. Azure, on a pile bendwise inverted throughout argent a torse in annulo azure and Or.

NOTE: A torse seen as a ring is called a torse in annulo. A torse seen edgewise as a line is just called a torse. (The Order of the Torse is still rejected because torses are useable by anyone and should not be restricted by being made the badge of an Order.)

Orin of the Argent Lions of Mightrinwood. Name change; formerly Orin of the Argent Lions.

Outlands, Principality of. Device for Princess of the Outlands. Vert, a hind salient argent, in sinister canton a Saxon crown, all within a bordure Or.

Cadwallon y Rhudd. Per fess wavy Or and azure, in chief a pine bough leaved and fructed proper and in base two bars wavy argent.

NOTE: "Red" in Welsh is rhudd. The correct form is thus Cadwallon y Rhudd, not Cadwallon Rudd.

Douglas of Roteland. Argent, perched on an axe fesswise sable a sparrow (Passer domesticus) close contourny proper, in chief a Latin cross vert.

Falcon Cree, Canton of. Badge. Per fess gules and Or, a falcon's head erased contourny and a twin-peaked mountain counterchanged.

James Bancoth. Azure, a Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris) statant guardant proper, in chief two mullets of eight points pierced argent.

NOTE: Star-shaped shuriken are out of period. The closest they had in period were like mullets of four points.

Jan Zlostny Mec. Azure, on a bend Or between two mullets of four points argent a sword gules.

John Emeris of Caer Bannog. Badge. A lion's head caboshed gules jessant-d'estoile argent.

Kingdom of Caid

Alondra Orre. Argent, a gurges purpure, overall a cat's head caboshed sable with ram's horns and jessant-de-lys Or.

Basil Dragonstrike. Badge. Argent, semy of flames proper, a dragon segreant sable, garnished Or.

NOTE: "Garnished" means all minor details are of the second tincture. This applies to animals, swords, and any other charges with minor details of a second tincture.

Cameron of Caladoon. Sable, three ornamental Chinese Fu dog's heads caboshed argent.

NOTE: These are from the statues of Fu dog heads on a gate in Peking and are therefore highly stylized.

Christopher of Deauville. Azure, a pilgrim passant contourny, holding in dexter hand a staff proper and in sinister hand a mullet of four greater and four lesser points Or, and on a chief embattled argent three ornamental Chinese Fu dog's heads caboshed sable.

NOTE: These are highly stylized Fu dog heads.

Eichling von Amrum. Badge. On an oak leaf inverted bendwise sinister sable an acorn argent.

Michelle de Feraud. Vert, two dragon's heads respectant couped and conjoined at the neck argent, on a chief sable fimbriated an arrow reversed argent.

Sean Ó Maoláin. Quarterly gules and sable, a rustre throughout Or.

Kingdom of Meridies

Agrippina di Conti. On, a rose sable, slipped and leaved, barbed and seeded proper, its stem entwined by a serpent, head to sinister, gules.

Alberich Peregninator. Azure, in pale a ram's head couped at the shoulder contourny argent and a barrulet wavy Or.

Annolivia of the Sylvan Glade. Azure, an Ionic column within an annulet, on a chief argent a slip of English ivy (Hedera helix) proper.

NOTE: The only cases for internal lines in heraldry are masoned or chased. Anything else, such as the Doric meander, is diapering and is not listed in the blazon. Changing the meander to silver on white would be proper diapering.

Ciarrái MacBraonáin an taghdach. Sable, a sun between in cross four oak leaves, all within a bordurelet Or.

Cipriano de Alvarez. Per fess Or and vert, two griffins segreant and an annulet counterchanged, all within a bordure counter-ermine.

CorwynIain MacAern. Per chevron sable and argent, a griffin passant and a Roman tuba reversed counterchanged

Devin Conal MacLochlainn. Or, a label of three points inverted throughout, the center point elongated, sable.

Domenica Farnese. Badge. A mullet of six points gyronny of six azure and vert.

NOTE: All gyronnys have one line of division on the fess line. The others are spaced out at the appropriate angles. Thus, the points of this mullet alternate azure and vert.

Elizabeth FitzRandolph. Argent, an owl close guardant azure, orbed, beaked and taloned Or, grasping in its dexter talon a book and in sinister chief an increscent azure.

Elom Eikinskjaldi. Per bend sinister sable and barruly argent and sable, in dexter chief an oak tree eradicated Or, leaved vert, fructed of three acorns Or.

NOTE: Heraldry does not count beyond ten. Hence, this is barruly instead of barry of fourteen.

Enriqueta Isabel de Reyes y Mora. Paly of eight Or and sable, a chevronel between three whippets courant gules.

NOTE: I need a copy of the forms.

Etienne Durant. Sable, a pall voided between three pegasi rampant chased argent.

NOTE: By default, the wings are elevated and addorsed.

Felene of Scotia. Gyronny Or and vert, on the gyrons eight ears of wheat conjoined at the centerpoint counterchanged.

NOTE: Scotia is the old name for Ireland. Caledonia is the old name for Scotland. If you really want to be of Scotland, then you are either Felene of Scotland or Felene of Caledonia. The ears must be specified as being on the gyrons, since the default position for eight ears would be on the lines of division, as if the ears formed a mullet of eight points.

Hammerhold, Barony of. Badge for the Order of Tempered Steel. Gules, a sledgehammer palewise sable enflamed Or.

Margala of Dovedales. Badge. Vert, a sunflower proper (Helianthus annus) within a bordure dovetailed Or.

NOTE: I need copies of the forms. The interlaced knotwork was too busy, so I used the version with just a sunflower proper. Sunflowers proper are yellow with black seeds.

Morgana d'Averno. Azure, a tree blasted and eradicated, bearing fruit, between in fess two lit torches, all within a bordure dovetailed Or.

NOTE: Appeal accepted. The Italian name for the lake is Averno, not Averna. Thus your name should be Morgana d'Averno. I will accept the Italian place name as adequate differencing from Morgan le Fay, who lived in Britain.

Orlando Cavalcanti. Badge. Argent, a greyhound's head regardant erased at the shoulder vert, gorged of two crowns engrailed of three points.

NOTE: The badge is OK, but it cannot be a badge for use by a household, as only Duke Orlando has the right to display the crowns. His household members do not have this right. Therefore, I have registered this as a personal badge. He could use a greyhound's head gorged of two collars for his household badge.

Orrick of Romney. Azure, a wooden pig-snout psaltery inverted between three acorns proper.

Richard the Alchemist of Wales. Sable, platy, a bar embattled abased Or between in chief a castle and in base three pheons argent.

NOTE: Richard II was made Prince of Wales in 1376 and was thus known as Richard of Wales. To avoid the name conflict, I have added in Richard's nickname, "The Alchemist." The emblazon shows the field as sable, platy instead of counter-ermine. If you want counter-ermine, send a new drawing. If you want platy, make the roundels much bigger.

Rhora of Goldring. Sable, in bend sinister an annulet Or between two bend cotices wavy between a dove volant fesswise argent, maintaining in its beak an olive branch proper, and a battle axe bendwise argent, hafted Or.

NOTE: If you want bendlets instead of bend cotices, the bendlets must be drawn three times wider.

Kingdom of the West

Aislinn of Cumbria. Gules, an owl's head couped affronty Or within a bordure embattled pean.

Akbar the Sot. Badge. Sable, a Bog Beast's head erased, argent.

Alexandra of Cat's Heart. Barry wavy azure and vert, a winged mermaid displayed argent.

Christian MacTaggart. Per pale barry Or and argent counterchanged, on a pale azure a boar's head erased argent.

Cornelius Oakson. Per bend sinister azure and gules, platy, a bend sinister and in dexter chief three dragons statant contourny Or.

NOTE: More than ten charges is semy of those charges. Charges facing sinister are contourny.

Däwyd Suomalainen von Markheim. Change of badge designation. Formerly: "Badge for Domus Aureli". Sable, scaly Or. Now: "Badge for House Beltane" Sable, scaly Or.

NOTE: His lady, Deporodh of Rannoch, also has a different badge for House Beltane.

Eilonwy Morgause Grey. Gules, on a pale between in chief two mullets argent a stalk of woodruff (Asperula odorata) proper and in base a mullet gules.

Robert Scheller der Lasterhaft. Gules, a tiger rampant argent, striped sable.

NOTE: A tyger with a "y" is the heraldic beastie without stripes that looks like a wolf-faced lion. A tiger with an "i" is the natural tiger. When blazoned as a Bengal tiger or a natural tiger, it is drawn realistically. When just blazoned as a tiger, it can be stylized. In this case, it has the elaborate heraldic tail seen on lions and unicorns.

West, Kingdom of. Badge for the Guild of the Elephant. Formerly: badge for the West Kingdom Chess Guild.

Wulf Sagan von Osten-See. Azure, a sea lion erect between two endorses Or between in bend an escallop palewise and a dexter gauntlet tergiant clenched palewise argent charged on the cuff with a mullet gules.

END OF ACCEPTANCES

REJECTIONS

Kingdom of Ansteorra

Aureliane Rioghail. Badge for House Rioghail. A mascle azure interlaced by a Bowen knot in cross fretted Or.

NOTE: Conflicts with Leila of the Meadows: Sable, a Bowen knot in cross fretted Or. Add a field other than sable or change the color of the fretted knot and you will be OK.

Frea Geardson. Vert, a narwhal bendwise, tail nowed, within a bordure Or.

NOTE: Frea was the Anglo-Saxon name for the god Freyr, and was used as a name for the Christian god. Geard means dwelling or garth, not guardian. Most Anglo-Saxon names are composed of two parts (e.g., Ead-weard, Alf-gar). Geard is only one part and is thus improbable for the father's name. The combined problems with both words is too much. I will accept Freana Geardson. The device is acceptable.

Rudolf von Tarmenheim. Sable, a compass star throughout gyronny of sixteen sable and argent, fimbriated within a bordurelet argent.

NOTE: Conflicts with Brandon d'Arindeli: Per bend azure and sable, a compass star of sixteen elongated to base within a bordure argent.

Sieglinde Syr. Badge. Argent, crossed in pall a sickle dripping blood from the point, a garb of wheat, and a grapevine leaved and fructed, all proper.

NOTE: This is far too busy for a badge. Syr is a variant spelling of Sir, and may not be used. Try Seer.

Kingdom of Atenveldt

Aegina de Spencer. Gules, a mascle of two ribbons entwined, two ends pendant from chief, Or, thereon in cross four sunflowers (Helianthus annus) proper.

NOTE: Sunflowers are yellow with black centers. You can have sunflowers argent, seeded Or, but not seeded brown. Otherwise, it's OK.

Amanda de Spencer. Per chevron inverted enhanced gules and sable, a fret Or and a lantern, therein a candle argent, enflamed proper.

NOTE: This is properly called a chief point pointed, or mantelé inverted. This is a charge, not a field division, and so the device is color on color. Per chevron inverted is an even division of the field and is, therefore, exempt from the Rule of Tincture. There is no field division called per chevron inverted enhanced, as it is not an even division of the field.

Brendel of Lyons' Key. Gules, a chevron stepped and in chief a key palewise reversed and two lions combatant, one and two, Or.

NOTE: Stepped is not a standard line of division. Please send in documentation on its period use.

Colm Cormaic Tir Mell. Gyronny vert and sable, in saltire a spear Or, headed argent, surmounted by a claymore proper, in base a bezant charged with a Lacy knot sable.

NOTE: Tir Mell is the same land as Tir na n'Og, the Celtic paradise. You cannot use that as a place name or surname. The device is OK.

Cormak MacGuin. Sable, a bend sinister bretessed gules, fimbriated, and in chief a Cross of Jerusalem argent.

NOTE: Conflicts with Kelson de la Croix: Sable, a bend sinister gules, fimbriated between a Latin Cross and an olive branch bendwise sinister argent. They are too visually similar.

Kingdom of Atlantia

Ardan the Cat Master. Per bend azure and argent, a pile inverted bendwise throughout Or between a star of David argent interlaced of a sword inverted proper and a lion's head couped contourny with a mane of flames sable.

NOTE: That is far too thin to be a pile. A pile is two to three times wider than that. The pile should also be centered on the line of the bend, not on top of it. The flames are really indistinguishable from an elaborate mane.

Atlantia, Kingdom of. Badge for the Order of the Golden Dolphin. Per chevron enhanced invected argent and azure, a dolphin naiant contourny Or.

NOTE: The Order of the Golden Dolphin conflicts with the Order of the Dolphin, the Caid service award. Atlantia can ask Caid for permission.

Black Diamond, Shire of. Badge. Or, a lozenge sable.

NOTE: Conflicts with Van Leeden: Or, a lozenge sable (Rietstaap).

Gualruad O'Culaigne. Name change to Bartholomew du Bâton Flambé.

NOTE: Name change rejected. Bartholomew of the Flaming Club is properly translated as Bartolomé de la Massue Flammant, although Bartholomew could be substituted for Bartolomé. Bâton means stick, not club. Flambé means blaze or rocketing, but not flaming.

Rhiannon ach Llywyllyn Whledig. Azure, a chevronel Or surmounted by a merlin displayed, sinister wing elevated, argent, in base a pegasus courant contourny Or, crined argent.

NOTE: Whledig is the personal sobriquet of Macsen, and may not be used. Llywyllyn is incorrect. The correct version is Llewellyn. The word ach is a noun meaning degree of kinship, and is not correctly used as a patronymic. The correct form would be Rhiannon ferch Llewellyn. The device is OK.

Kingdom of Meridies

Alaric Cirala. Azure, in fess a pawn, a king piece and two pawns argent.

NOTE: The device conflicts with Rocha: Azure, three pawns in fess argent. The name conflicts with Duke Alaric from the Deryni trilogy. He was referred to as Cirala in a satirical song.

Angharad verch Gwydden Fychan. Argent, an enfield sejant, dexter leg upraised, in chief three musketours sable.

NOTE: An enfield is out of period. Blazoning it by parts does not change this fact. I have put the question of out-of-period monsters to the College, but at this time the rule still holds. Ermine spots are called musketours when used as charges.

Brenna Heathuwylm. Per pale azure and argent, a raven rising, wings displayed and inverted, counterchanged and on a chief sable three flames argent.

NOTE: Conflicts with Stephen Ironhand: Per pale argent and azure, an eagle displayed counterchanged. Send me a photocopy of the reference for Heathuwylm. The form lists both Heathuwyln and Heathuwylm. Which is it?

Brotherhood of H.A.M.M.S.. Argent, on a fess vert cotissed sable a lute fesswise reversed edge on proper and in base a boar's head erased contourny gules.

NOTE: Musical instruments are invariably shown as they are held, face on, with the strings or holes showing. Turn the lute to face out. Otherwise, it is acceptable.

Hollin of Kestrelmere. Argent, a falcon rising, belled, belled, jessed and vervelled proper, on a chief azure three estoiles argent.

NOTE: Conflicts with Gregory of York: Argent, a falcon striking proper, on a chief azure three roses argent, each charged with a rose Or, fimbriated sable, all barbed and seeded proper. You get one point for roses versus estoiles, but striking and rising are too similar. Also conflicts with Walker: Argent, a falcon rising proper, armed, jessed and belled Or, on a chief azure a bezant between two estoiles Or. Hollin is a surname and may not be used as a given name. You can, of course, use Holly.

Holtmar of Wyrhtenatun. Barry of eight and per pale Or and gules, an eagle's head erased sable.

NOTE: Holtmar (forest-lake) would seem to be a surname. Wyrhtenaatun is not the correct compund of Wyrtha and tun, as you have reversed the "t" and the "he". Find an Anglo-Saxon scholar at a university and ask the proper translation of Village of the Wrights. Choose a given name, or document Holtmar as a given name. The device is acceptable.

Joanna de Bocage. Argent, on a saltire azure, a sun in splendour Or.

NOTE: Conflicts with Menage of Brittany: Argent, on a saltire azure a sun in splendour Or. This should be "du" not "de."

Katrinka Liebenskind. Azure, a cat sejant affronty within an annulet argent.

NOTE: Conflicts with Perigrine Mellyrn of the Last Mountain: Azure, a mascle within an annulet argent.

Timur von Schlockmeyer. Or, two pallets sable, a chief potenty gules.

NOTE: Conflicts with Harley: Or, two pallets sable (Papworth, p. 1012). Papellony of one tincture is a form of diapering. Papellony of two tinctures is an allowed fur. In any event, all you have is one point for adding the chief.

Trimaris, Principality of. Azure, a triskele argent, overall a male melusine sejant erect sable, chased argent, holding in his dexter upraised hand a laurel wreath and in his sinister hard and tail a shepard's crook, within the laurel wreath a crown of five straight points, each point tipped with a mullet, all Or.

NOTE: The device is too complex. There's insufficient contrast between the male melusine and the triskeles. We can figure no reference to you style of triskeles. A triskeles or triskelion, is a figure consisting of three legs conjoined (be default). Any other triskeles must be of specified objections. A male melusine is a triton with two tails, just as a female melusine (the default case) is a mermaid with two tails. Eliminate the triskeles and the device will be acceptable. Then you can blazon the male melusine as argent.

Trimaris, Principality of. Badge. A sun Or eclipsed of a fountain.

NOTE: Conflicts with Kourost Bernard: Sable, a sun eclipsed Or. Also conflicts with the Royal Society of Health: Azure, a fountain radiating Or. If you put it on a field of a color other than sable or azure, it would work, but you cannot have it without a field.

Trimaris, Principality of. Flag. Argent, a fess wavy between three triskeles one and two azure.

NOTE: Document the triskeles.

Trimaris, Principality of. Badge for the Winemakers Guild of Trimaris. Per chevron inverted sable and gules, in chief a key fesswise Or and in base a triskeles argent between two ears of wheat crossed in base at the tips in saltire Or.

NOTE: Document the triskeles.

Zan Andreas of the Blue Cave. Badge. Argent, a hawthorn branch (Crategus oxyarantha) flowered proper issuant from sinister base.

NOTE: I do not have the forms for the badge. Please send them to me. I cannot tell if the brand is bendwise or palewise, so I cannot pass it.

END OF REJECTIONS

Pray believe me, My Lords and Ladies, that I remain

Your servant,

Master Wilhelm von Schlüssel
