Unto the members of the College of Arms and any others who may read this missive, greetings from Alisoun MacCoul of Elphane, Laurel Queen of Arms!

The enclosed letter includes the submissions considered at the May Laurel meeting, held on Sunday, 24 May. At that time the following letters were considered: Aten (2/1), Calontir (2/1), An Tir (2/5), West (2/8), Atlantia (2/18) and East (2/18). Of the 230 items on this letter, 187 were positive, 42 negative and there was one item pended for a success rate of slightly over 81%.

The primary Laurel meeting for June was scheduled for Sunday, 14 June and considered Caid (3/8), West (3/12), Ansteorra (3/25) and Atlantia (3/27). The Atenveldt letter of March 1 will be considered at the Symposium and all decisions will be published after that meeting.

The July meeting is scheduled for Sunday, 26 July and will consider Middle (3/30), Middle (3/31), Caid (4/5), Meridies (4/7), Ansteorra (4/9), West (4/15) and Atlantia (4/28). The August "meeting" will be held in several sessions at the Pennsic War and consider An Tir (5/5), Caid (5/10), East (5/20), West (5/20), Atlantia (5/27), Middle (5/27) and Middle (5/28). The September meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, 13 September, and will consider Atenveldt (6/1), Calontir (6/3), Caid (6/7), Wet (6/10) and any other letters dated in June.

Roster Changes

Akagawa Yoshio has become Dolphin Herald for Caid (Kevin Munday, 14011 Utt Drive, Tustin, CA 92680). He will not be commenting at this time. Aelfric Dromundr has been compelled by mundane circumstances to resign as Saker Herald for Calontir.

Inevitably, the macro rampant that is the badge of the computerized Laurel Office omitted the "[Not on Mailing List]" notation from a couple of members of the College on the Roster published with the April letter: Letitia de Montagnes Bleues (Regional Herald for Artemisia) and Petahari Zubayda (Northern Region Deputy in Trimaris).

An Administrative Note

A gentle reminder to all Principal Heralds or Submissions Deputies to send a copy of each Letter of Intent to the Laurel Office at the same time that it is sent to the members of the College of Arms. Please do not wait to send the letter with the paperwork for the letter of intent as, if the latter is delayed for some reason, the Laurel Office then will be unaware of its existence and cannot schedule it properly for future meetings.

Coming Events

This letter is a bit sparse on theory and general matter, largely because of the proximity of the Symposium in California, where (hopefully) a great many issues of theory and policy will be discussed at some length. The Laurel meeting has been scheduled for late in the month intentionally to allow digestion of all the input from the members of the College (present and former) and other interested parties. The most strenuous efforts are being made to include all those interested in the discussion of the rules for submission and other important issues, not only through the July Laurel letter, but also through the Proceedings from the Symposium and (if the technology does not fail us) videotapes of the discussions. Stay tuned. . .

Your servant,

Alisoun
