Unto the members of the College of Arms does Da'ud ibn Auda, Laurel King of Arms, send Greetings!;

My Lords and Ladies,

Here we have yet another Laurel Letter of Intent.

1.Society for Creative Anachronism. Badge change for the Office of the Chirurgeon. Gules, on a goutte argent, a fleam gules.
The current badge, Gules, on a goutte argent a cross couped gules, will be released.

Ah, yes, here we go again. After much consultation with the Society Chirurgeon, the Steward, several legal authorities and the American Red Cross, it has been determined that the present Chirurgeon's badge is indeed in violation of international treaty and federal law by using the gules cross couped. Since we have been unable to get any kind of permission to keep the badge as it is, the Chirurgeon and I, after more consultation, have determined that this proposal would require the smallest change to existing regalia (baldrics, tent dags, etc.) which would still keep us out of trouble with mundane authority. Please research this proposal very carefully. We would very much like not to have to change this badge ever again. (Under the theory that twice is more than enough.)

Thank you for your consideration of this proposal.
