Unto the members of the College of Arms does Shayk Da'ud ibn Auda, Laurel King of Arms, send heartfelt Greetings!

My Lords and Ladies,

Herein are corrections to various Letters of Acceptances and Returns and the Armorial and Ordinary.

LoAR -February 1994

CALONTIR

'Abd-al-'Aziz al-Jazzar. Name and device. Sable, two scimitars in saltire between three decrescents within a bordure embattled argent.

The LoAR accidentally left out the tincture of all the charges.

OUTLANDS

Enrique de Molina. Device. Gules, a patriarchal cross bottony throughout Or.

Conflict with Bockingham (Papworth, p. 613), Gules, a cross botonny Or. There may be a CD for the change to the type of cross, but there cannot be sufficient difference between this cross and Bockingham's. There are similar conflicts with Frenband (Papworth, p. 613), Gules, a cross crosslet Or and with Brokingham (Woodward, Combo II), Gules, a cross botonny Or.

Listed under "Acceptances", this should have been listed under "Returns". Sorry about that! The conflicts as listed are determining.

Fiacha Suileach. Badge. Per pale azure and purpure, in fess an increscent argent, a bezant, and a decrescent argent.

The LoAR accidentally left out the words "and a decrescent", making for a very odd blazon. (What tincture is a "bezant argent"?)

LoAR - January 1994

MIDDLE

Bo of Baile na Scolairi. Holding name and device (see RETURNS for name). Per fess indented sable and azure, a dance Or between six roundels in annulo Or voided gules all within a bordure Or.

Submitted as Ixtlixochitl de los Indios.

This was mistakenly listed in the LoAR as "Name only (see RETURNS for device)". (Someone typed in the wrong code during the Laurel meeting, and I didn't catch it afterwards.) Serious oops!
