ROSTER CHANGES AND CORRECTIONS

Black Lion now has a new telephone number to go along with his new address. It is (206) 277-3557.

SCHEDULES AND SCHEDULING

Because of the short time between the Known World Heraldic Symposium and the July Laurel meeting, I am going to request that people not plan on handing me LoIs, LoCs, and/or Laurel packets at the Symposium. Things are going to be tight enough what with trying to finish up the LoAR from the June meetings and preparing for the July meeting, and I would hate for something someone handed to me at the Symposium to get sidetracked or overlooked in the rush. So please go ahead and mail correspondence, etc. to the Laurel P.O. Box as you normally would , and that should keep everything on track as it should be.

And did everyone have a "bad hair month" in May? I started growing nervous around the 20th of the month when I had at that point only received one May LoI. Sure enough, I stopped at the P.O. Box on both sides of Memorial Day, and between the Friday and the Tuesday stops, had received seven LoIs! Falling between two Laurel meetings only three weeks apart, the local SCA group's largest event each year (and a wet one it turned out to be, too! I spent most of Monday, Memorial Day, drying stuff out), and a two-week visit from my mother-in-law, getting these letters processed properly will, naturally, be delayed somewhat. I hope June is a better month for your submissions processing.

MISCELLANY

Peter McInally of New York writes in the March 1994 Heraldry Gazette:

The ubiquitous Mr. Blobby's hit single includes the lines Blobby, Mr. Blobby, you're the one who bears the pink and yellow crest. I wonder what the rest of his armorial bearings are?

Peter McInally, The Heraldry Gazette, March 1994, p. 7

Until next month, I remain, as ever,

Your faithful servant,

Da'ud ibn Auda
