ROSTER CHANGES AND CORRECTIONS

The Triton Principal Herald (Atlantia) has a new address. It is: Herveus d'Ormonde (Michael Houghton), 5412 Lakeford Lane, Bowie, MD 20720. A new telephone number will follow.

The former Elmet Herald (East) has a new heraldic title and a new address. She is now Keystone Herald, and her new address is: Elsbeth Anne Roth (Kathryn Van Stone), CMU Box 229, 4902 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3799. Her telephone number is (412) 221-8887.

The Kraken Herald's (Atlantia) name has been misspelled on the Roster. It should be David Montuori. (The "o" and the "u" had been transposed.)

Aten asks that you add the former Crescent Principal Herald, Rouland Carre, to the mailing list as an Atenveldt commenter. His new address is: Rouland Carre (Richard R. Hershberger), 1701 East Mountain View Avenue #3, Flagstaff, AZ 86004; (602) 774-8972.

Agnes of Ilford (Caid), "owing to an unfortunate attack of real life", finds that she no longer has the time and energy required as a commenter, and requests that you remove her from the mailing list and roster.

As of November 1, 1994, Lady Annys de Vernun of Kettering will be stepping down as Saker Herald (Calontir). Please add now to your mailing list and roster her successor, Lady Regina Lisle (Regina D. Townsend), 913 Christie Court, Lawrence, KS 66049; (913) 749-1583. Lady Annys will remain on the roster and mailing list as Hawk Herald.

Black Lion asks that you add to the mailing list and the roster as a commenter the Sinister Gauntlet Herald, Sorcha ni Fhaolain (Jane Fisher), 1769 Boston Street, Richland, WA 99352; (509) 946-9770.

JOB OPENING (or, Start Those Cards and Letters Coming!)

A reminder: as I noted in the Cover Letter with the June LoAR, my warrant expires at the end of June 1995. At this time, I have not decided myself whether to seek a year's extension. If you are at all interested in the position of Laurel Sovereign of Arms of the Society beginning in July 1995, please submit a resume/bid for the position to the Board of Directors (with a courtest copy to me) by December 1, 1994. This will allow the Board to make a decision at the January 1995 meeting and permit a smooth transition of the office by the June Known World Heraldic Symposium.

If you are interested but uncertain what the position entails, or if you have any questions, please feel free to talk to me directly, either by letter or by phone.

MISCELLANY (or, Canada's At It Again! From the People Who Brought You the New Heraldic Tincture "Rose")

How did the Chief Herald of Canada blazon the following arms he granted on the 5th November 1992 to Geoffrey Lionel Dixon?[1]

From The Heraldry Gazette, June 1994, pp. 3, 8.

Until next month, I remain, as ever,

Your faithful servant,

Da'ud ibn Auda

Laurel King of Arms
