Unto the members of the College of Arms does Shayk Da'ud ibn Auda, Laurel King of Arms, send heartfelt Greetings!

Herein are corrections to various Letters of Acceptances and Returns and the Armorial and Ordinary.

September 1995 LoAR

MERIDIES

Tancred the Gray. Device. Per bend sable and vert, a bend indented and in sinister chief a tree couped argent, a base wavy barry wavy argent and vert.

The blazon accidentally dropped the tincture of the tree, and typoed the base as a "base wave barry wavy...."

August 1995 LoAR

MERIDIES

Grigorii Elissevevich. Device. Azure, a pall inverted sable fimbriated between three mascles, a bordure argent.

The bordure, and the tincture of the secondaries, was inadvertently omitted from the registration.

June 1994 LoAR

DRACHENWALD

Alaric Dimitrievich Razvedchikov. Device. Per chevron azure and or, in sinister chief a demi-dragon Or.

Submitted on the LoI and reported in the LoAR as Razvedchekov, the name was registered as above in the August 1989 LoAR.

EAST

Arnwulf Æthelreding. Badge. Per bend gules and Or, a bend raguly abased sable.

Reported in the LoAR as Aethelreding, the name was registered with the digraph in the December 1992 LoAR.

July 1994 LoAR

CAID

Richard de Montcornet. (Now Richard Oaks of Green Mountain.) Device. Or, a massacre and a mountain vert.

The charge in base was reported in the LoAR as a mount, which is not quite the same thing.

Vittoria da Faenza. Name and device. Argent, a horse salient azure crined sable between in chief two roses purpure.

The LoAR had crined the roses and not the horse. [Anyone else remember the LoI from a few years back that had "a thistle, armed and orbed"? ]

MIDDLE

Rhiannon Amber ferch Morgan ap Maredudd. Device. Per pale sable and vert, on a chevron between three roses argent a dragon rampant sable.

The LoI, and consequently the LoAR, dropped the patronymic from her registered name.

OUTLANDS

al-Barran, Barony of. Badge. [Fieldless] On a scorpion Or a compass star gules.

The blazon in the LoAR accidentally dropped the indefinite article; had the tincture of the scorpion not been capitalized, it would have made a very odd half-sentence indeed: "On a scorpion or compass star gules...."

Armorial and Ordinary

Cealmhain Realt Dubh. Device. Tierced per pall argent, sable and gules, in chief rose branch fesswise, flowered of a single rose, slipped and leaved sable.

Originally blazoned as Tierced per pall argent, sable and gules, in chief a garden rose fesswise stalked and leaved sable, the charge is clearly much more branch than rose, thus meeting Baron Bruce's criteria for reblazoning as a rose branch.

Cealmhain Realt Dubh. Badge. Argent, a rose branch fesswise budded of a single bud, slipped and leaved sable.

Originally blazoned as Argent, a garden rosebud fesswise slipped and leaved sable, the charge is clearly much more branch than rose, thus meeting Baron Bruce's criteria for reblazoning as a rose branch.

Dùn an Locha Ruaidh, Canton of. Device. Per fess gules and sable, a dance between a laurel wreath and on a flame Or a rock gules.

Submitted on the LoI and listed in the November 1993 LoAR as Dun na Loch Ruadh, the name was registered as above in September 1993.

Germaine Silverbird of Staghurst. Device. Per bend sable and vert, a lark rising wings elevated and addorsed argent carrying in its talons a tankard fesswise distilling a goutte Or.

Originally blazoned as Per bend sable and vert, a lark volant argent carrying in its talons a tankard fesswise distilling a goutte Or, the bird is really much closer to rising than to volant.
