Unto the members of the College of Arms and all others who may read this missive do Mistress Jaelle of Armida, Laurel Queen of Arms, and Mistress Sionyn Muirgen ní Dhomnall, Pelican Queen of Arms, send Greetings!

The July 1996 Laurel meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 1996, and will consider the following Letters of Intent: Drachenwald (February 21), Middle (March 5), Ansteorra (February 29 but postmarked March 8), Atlantia (March 10), An Tir (March 16), Atenveldt (March 20), West (March 20), Caid (March 24), East (March 27), Calontir (March 30) and Meridies (March 30). Original commentary on these LoIs must have been in the College's hands no later than May 31, 1996. Responses and rebuttals to commentary must be in the College's hands no later than June 30, 1996.

The August 1996 Laurel meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 25, 1996, and will consider the following Letters of Intent: Drachenwald (March 24), Outlands (April 4), Caid (April 5), Middle (April 8) An Tir (April 11), Atlantia (April 13), Laurel (April 14), East (April 18), West (April 24), and Trimaris (April 25). There will be a Laurel roadshow meeting at Pennsic on Thursday, August 16. Original commentary on these LoIs must be in the College's hands no later than June 30, 1996. Responses and rebuttals to commentary must be in the College's hands no later than July 31, 1996.

Not all Letters of Intent may be considered when they are originally scheduled on this Cover Letter. Date of mailing of the LoI, date of receipt of the Laurel packet, or other factors may delay consideration of certain Letters of Intent. Additionally, not all Letters of Intent received have been scheduled because the administrative requirements (receipt of the forms packet, receipt of the necessary fees, etc.) have not yet been met.

ADMINISTRATIVE NOTE

Copies of all CoA correspondences (LoIs, LoCs, etc,) must be sent using the postal system to Mistress Sionyn, Pelican Queen of Arms. Failure to do so may result in your letter not being counted.

ADMINISTRATIVE HANDBOOK

There appears to be some misunderstandings about the Administrative Handbook and the fact that it did not appear with the May cover letter. I am fully aware that in early June, prior to the switch in office, I did not have the authority to pull the handbook, that in fact Da'ud was the only person at that time who could do so. That was why I got his permission before I called Marta and Symon and told them not to print it. In fact, Marta spoke to Da'ud that same evening, and he confirmed to her that it was not to be printed at this time.

We felt that sending it out in June and then a revised one in September would be a waste of the College's money and resources that could be best spent elsewhere.

COMING TO A WEB SITE NEAR YOU

We are speaking with the people at www.sca.org and there will be an official Laurel web site with LoARs, the rules, the administrative handbook, etc. available. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, etc. about what should be up there, please let us know.

MISCELLANY

From The High Court of Chivalry by G. D. Squibb (references a court of chivalry)

. . . and Wyght v. Tannere (1394), C.R.P. 1391-6, p. 380 seems to be a unique case of a female plaintiff complaining of the usurpation of her arms.

Until next month, pray believe that I am, and remain,

Your faithful servant,

Jaelle of Armida
Laurel Queen of Arms
