Changes to the Roster

Please add Cadell ap Hobart (Tim Whitaker, 178 Rt. 2A, Preston,
CT 06365, whitatw@gwsmtp.nu.com) to the roster and mailing list.
He will be the next Brigantia herald (as of Twelfth

Administrative Handbook
Enclosed with this package is the official Board-approved edition
of the Administrative Handbook, which goes into effect December
1, 1996. This supersedes all previous editions. I would like to
thank everyone for their helpful comments and input. The Laurel
office depends on the knowledge and skill of the members of the
College of Arms, and I, as Laurel, appreciate the hard work
everyone puts in.
Calls for Comment
With the registration of Khevron Oktavii Tikhikovich Vorotnikov,
submitted as Khevron Oktavii Zevin Tikhikovich Vorotnikov, we are
calling for commentary as to whether we should register double
given names in Russian. We already do not allow triple given
names. Please get commentary to us by the end of March,
1997.
Group Names in Order and Award Names
No one has been able to provide any evidence that period order
names ever used a location in the name. Therefore, from now on,
adding the name of a place to an order name will be considered
one weirdness.
Laurel on the Road
I will be going to Trimaris the last weekend in January to attend
their Herald's Symposium and I will be attending Gulf Wars in
March.
Requests from Morselus
If anyone has any requests, questions, suggestions, etc., about
the Morselus office, Free Trumpet Press West, or the heraldry
Webpage, please contact Iulstan directly. He does not read
commentary.
He has also decided, effective the end of the year, to give up
the CoA subscription service (but nothing else). If anyone is
interested in taking it over from him, please contact him
directly. He can be reached at: Iulstand Sigewealding (Steven R.
Gold), 877 San Lucas Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94043;
415-969-8237; goldschm@hal.com.
The ideal candidate would have timely access to all CoA
correspondence, be able to stick to a schedule throughout the
year, have a source of inexpensive photocopying, be located in
the United States, be very patient, possess basic bookkeeping
skills, and be willing to spend about six hours a month.
Official Laurel Webpage
The official Laurel Webpage is up, and while it is under
construction, more and more will be added to it as time passes.
You can reach it by going to http://www.sca.org and going to the
section marked heraldry, and under that Laurel. If anyone has
any ideas as to what should go there, or has items to contribute,
please contact me directly, and not as part of a letter of
comment.

"All heralds are reminded that their job in non-
political. By this, we mean that your personal likes
and dislikes should not enter into the job. You may
think that a person, or a group is nothing but a bunch
of good for nothing perverts. . . . but this shall not
become a part of your considerations as a herald. You
will register devices solely on their heraldic
acceptability and on no other consideration. "
Until next month, pray believe that I am, and remain,
