* From Laurel: Submissions Heralds, How To: OSCAR notification guide

Greetings, Principal Heralds and Submissions Heralds, want to know how to send electronic notifications using OSCAR but don't how? The instructions on how to use OSCAR to send electronic notifications are now available on the Laurel website. The instructions can be found on the Submission Heralds Job page or by following this link: http://heraldry.sca.org/oscar_notifications/

The instructions were written by Seraphina Delfino, Golden Dolphin, and edited by Marie de Blois, Clarion Herald. Thank you to Marie de Blois, Clarion Herald and Reis ap Tuder, Codex Herald, for their hard work to format the instruction and make them available on the website.

* From Morsulus: Cotises and the Database

The next release of the database will feature a new category:

COTISES

There should not be any instances of "cotised" as a feature left in the database, but that should not matter for conflict checking purposes.

COTISES takes number (almost always 1; sometimes 2; maybe could be 3), line (pl, wavy, etc.), group (second, rarely debruising, concievably tertiary), tincture, and a new feature set, "ordinary". The values for "ordinary" are:

This indicates the nature of the charge that the cotises are attached to. Yes, there is a "base cotised" in the database.
