Collected Precedents of the S.C.A.: Croatian and Serbian

Name Precedents: Croatian and Serbian

Laurel: Date: (year.month.date) Precedent:
Jaelle of Armida 1998.07 [David Dr islav] Submitted as Daor Dr islav the Procrastinator, the LoI asserted that Daor was Croatian for David. No documentation was presented for this, and none could be found. Therefore, barring documentation that Daor was a period given name, it cannot be used. We have substituted David. (Jaelle of Armida, LoAR July 1998)
Jaelle of Armida 1998.05 [Nikolai Dmitrii Iur'ev] Submitted as Nikolai Dmitrii Iur'ev Ivakhaik, the LoI typoed Ivakhnik for Ivakhaik. However, it is not a surname, but rather an early-period Serbian byname, and not compatible with the rest of the name. We have eliminated it in order to register the rest of the name and the armory. (Jaelle of Armida, LoAR May 1998, p. 7)
Alisoun MacCoul of Elphane 1987.02.28 [Kalina Crna zvjesda] Insufficient documentation was provided to demonstrate that Kalina was a period given name in Serbian or any other language. Documentation in support of the formation and meaning of the byname would also be helpful. (LoAR 28 Feb 87, p. 22)
