The 1st Tenure of Da'ud Ibn Auda (2nd year)

Introduction

This document covers the precedents from the second year of the tenure of Master Da'ud ibn Auda, from the July 1991 LoAR (and associated cover letter) to June 1992. It is a companion volume to Precedents of Master Da'ud ibn Auda, June 1990-June 1991, available from Free Trumpet Press West. It incorporates the same headers and indexing as does the previous volume. This volume will not list any rulings that fail to elaborate, add to, or overrule an earlier precedent from this volume or from the previous volume of Master Da'ud's precedents.

Within each header, the precedents are filed in order of date (except for the fact that cover letter citations will precede the associated letter). If a precedent has been superceded (in this volume), a note in [square brackets] will refer the reader to the overruling precedent. Overruling precedents will have a note in [square brackets] referring the reader to the overruled precedent (in this or the previous volume). An index of topics covered and the major headers under which they are found is provided at the end of this document.

All quotes are direct quotes from the LoAR (although obvious typographical errors have been corrected without notation). Emendations or comments for clarity are enclosed in [square brackets] - any square brackets in the original quote will be replaced by {curly brackets}. Following the policy of general anonymity of names and blazons when possible, <angle brackets> are used to set off phrases such as <given name> in the middle of a 'commonized' name or blazon. Deletions at the beginning or the end of a quote are not indicated, but deletions in the middle of a quote to remove material not pertinent to the discussion will be indicated by ellipses (...).
