To: All Members of the College of Arms

From: Wilhelm von Schlüssel, OL, OP, OLM, Laurel King of Arms

Greetings:

Enclosed with this is the November letter of Acceptances and Rejections. I shall be sending my next letter out in December. I am now caught up through August. I expect everyone to send me their comments on the September and October Letters of Intent by then. Currently I am receiving comments from Virgule, Vesper, Triton, Aten, and Dragon. Crescent, Brigantia, Beacon and Star Principal Heralds are delinquent. Please get caught up, commenting first of all on the letters from the last two months, as there is no real need now to comment on earlier letters.

I have not received submissions from several kingdoms in several months. It is much easier on me and everyone else if you send out batches of submissions on a regular basis rather than saving them up and sending out blockbuster batches all at once. I would like copies of all minutes so I can see what each kingdom college is doing. I hope to go through the ordinary and compile a list of specific rulings on individual charges, such as default position or tinctures. Then we can debate whether they should stand or be changed. There are still six weeks left in the open appeal period. After the end of the calendar year I will consider all previous decisions upheld unless proven otherwise by pursuasive evidence.

I would like to be kept up to date on any events or decisions on local levels which you think might be called to my official attention later on. It is a lot easier to handle explosive situations when I am forwarned. I would particularly like to know when anyone of you thinks I have made a mistake, or when somebody is particularly unhappy about a decision I have made. I am very reasonable, and quite willing to admit and correct mistakes, so long as I know that I've made them. I want to work with you all to improve the public image of the College of Heralds and increase the rate of device submissions. I don't want to get caught in the trap of concerning myself solely with obscure matters of rules and conflicts to the point of losing touch with the rest of the happenings in the SCA. Pray believe my Lords and Ladies, that I remain

Your servant
