To all the College of Arms and all others who may read this missive, from Emma Laurel, Elisabetta Pelican, and Oddr Wreath, greetings.
This January 6-8, 2023, will see our next Virtual Known World Heralds and Scribes Symposium, or vKWHSS for short, hosted by the Kingdom of Avacal, and held via Zoom in as many timezones as we can manage! As of this writing, they are still accepting new classes. We are pleased to announce that we have chosen a new Wreath Herald, Iago ab Adam! For those who don't already know him, Daunt Iago ab Adam resides in An Tir and has been the armory deputy to the An Tir Submissions Herald as well as a frequent commenter at both Kingdom and Laurel levels. He enjoys collecting and analyzing period sources of armory and writing articles on 16th C Breton names. Oddr Wreath and Iago are busily working out their transition schedule, which will be published on next month's Cover Letter.

On 9 July 2022 Their Majesties Sven and Roaukinn, King and Queen of An Tir, added Simon Fisc, Red Tree Pursuivant emeritus of the Barony of Madrone, to Their Order of the Goutte de Sang, An Tir's grant-level service honor, in recognition of his consistent service to the kingdom.
On October 30, at Samhain held in the Barony of Grey Niche in the Kingdom of Gleann Abhann, Their Majesties Axel and Jacette inducted Neave inghean ui Fhathaigh, Ruby Herald (submissions), into the Order of the Marble Chalice. The Marble Chalice is Gleann Abhann's non-armigerous order for service to the kingdom.
At that same event, Their Majesties Axel and Jacette also inducted Donngal Mac Roain, Blue Saphyre Herald (education), into the Order of the Onyx Chalice. The Onyx Chalice is Gleann Abhann's armigerous order for service.
On 12 November 2022 at the Kingdom of An Tir's Collegium in the Barony of Aquaterra, Their Majesties Octamasades and Achaxe, King and Queen of An Tir, added Elspeth Farre, Red Flame Herald (submissions) for the Principality of Tir Rígh to the Order of the Goutte de Sang, An Tir's grant-level service honor. Elspeth has been a consistent presence in the Tir Rígh College of Heralds for a number of years.
That same day, Their Majesties of An Tir also elevated Styrkarr Jarlskald to the Order of the Pelican. Among his various other accolades as a Laurel and Royal Peer, Styrkarr is an accomplished calligrapher and was the driving force behind An Tir's Collegium, the kingdom's major educational event and the one at which he was added to the Order.
Additionally that same day, Their Majesties of An Tir elevated Zahra bint al-Rammah, Baroness of Aquaterra, to the Order of the Pelican. In addition to a variety of other volunteer duties, such as organizing the kingdom's yearly benefit auction, Zahra has held a number of heraldic offices, including Baelidh Pursuivant of the Barony of Blatha an Oir, Ćstel Herald (consultation), Argent Scroll Herald (education), and several times Sable Mountain (Royal Court). As baroness during the pandemic, she has strived to maintain a sense of community and contact among her people.
On December 3 at Wassail in the Kingdom of Ealdormere, Their Majesties Kaylah and Trumbrand elevated Rylyn Buchanan, Trillium Emerita and current Bucina Herald, to the Order of the Laurel for her wide-ranging work in Anglo-Saxon domestic arts and sewing.
At the same event, Their Majesties made Percival de la Rocque, Purple Mantle Herald Extraordinary and another former Trillium Herald, a member of the Order of the Crucible for his work in vexillology and display heraldry. The Order of the Crucible is Ealdormere's grant-level award for arts and sciences.
We also would like to note a few more office transitions. In Atenveldt, the office of Aten Principal Herald has transitioned from Nastas'ia Volkovicha to Duncan the Sinister. In Ansteorra, the office of Star Principal Herald has transitioned from Elena Wyth to Annais de Montgomerie. We offer sincere thanks to both Nastas'ia and Elena for their service, particularly during the unpredictable years of the pandemic, and a hearty welcome to Duncan and Annais.
And in sadder news, we regret to announce the recent passing of Master Bran Trefonnen, Corvus Herald Extraordinary, Former Triton Principal Herald of Atlantia.
Letters of Intent, Comment, Response, Correction, et cetera are to be posted to the OSCAR online system. No paper copies need be sent. All submission forms plus documentation, including petitions, must be posted to the OSCAR online system. While black-and-white emblazons must be included in the Letter of Intent, only colored armory forms need to be posted in the forms area.

Not all letters of intent may be considered when they are originally scheduled on this cover letter. The date of posting of the LoI, date of receipt of the Laurel packet, or other factors may delay consideration of certain letters of intent. Additionally, some letters of intent received may not have been scheduled because the administrative requirements (receipt of the forms packet, receipt of the necessary fees, et cetera) have not yet been met.
REMINDER: Until all administrative requirements are met, the letter may not be scheduled.
